Overview: The Community Schools Initiative invites certificated faculty to participate in the "Community Schools Instructional Showcase" where participants will learn about the exciting innovative practices being implemented at our Community Schools. At this showcase, participants will dive into the signature practices at Community Schools learning best practices for implementation from their fellow Community Schools colleagues. Intended topics are: PDSA best practices, Project Based Learning Examples, Overview of PBL Opportunities available to Community Schools (Defined Learning and Center for Powerful Public Schools), Examples of Joyful Disruption in CS Classrooms, and Equitable Grading and Instruction Connected to CS Values.
Theme: Charting the Journey: Illuminating Pathways of Innovation
Purpose: The purpose of this showcase is to celebrate and to expand learning regarding the signature practices that align to the four key conditions for learning in Community Schools classrooms: supportive environmental conditions, productive instructional strategies, social and emotional learning, and systems of support.
